SPI Health and Safety renews a major contract with Rio Tinto

The Canadian leader in health and safety recently announced the renewal of its contract with Rio Tinto for a total of $30 million dollars over the next five years, representing approximately $6 million annually. Therefore, SPI Health and Safety retains its status as the official supplier of Rio Tinto for Eastern Canada.

The contract obtained by SPI went through a rigorous process for which the company was able to respond to key criteria effectively, such as its knowledge of facilities and needs, its competitive prices, its level of expertise and innovation, as well as its operational effectiveness.

“Over the last few years, SPI has built a trusting relationship with Rio Tinto. We had the honour of winning the Value Maximization award during their annual gala,” stated Martin Tremblay, President and Chief Executive Officer of SPI Health and Safety. 

In February 2015, Rio Tinto recognized our team’s leadership on how it proactively proposed replacement products, thus substantially reducing costs. Also, the presence of SPI on site during the introduction of new products was taken into account in selecting a winner.
